BE STRONG IN THE LORD

SONG

I've got the light of God in me

I've got the light of God in me

I've got the Spirit of the Son of God

I've got the light of God in me

TEXT:

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might." ( Ephesians Chapter 6 verse 10).

Our opening scripture this morning admonishes that we be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. The Lord has not told us to do something we can not do. If He says, “Be strong in the Lord,” it means that’s what you need to do in such a time as this. We are to do this not by our own strength but in the power of His might. He gives further instructions in the next verse: “Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” This tells us to prepare and stay prepared ahead of any eventuality. The verse also tells us what to do against the devil. When we put on the whole armour of God as the verse has rightly said, we’ll be able to stand against all the stratagems, schemes, maneuvers, and manipulations of the devil.

The reason many of us falter when we are faced with challenges of life is that we don’t act on the Word of God. Let's be reminded that there’s always a day of trouble (the evil day); it’s to be anticipated. There’s an enemy out there seeking whom to devour, and when he has the opportunity, he strikes. But we’re not ignorant of His devices. Satan isn’t a factor as long as you’re strong in the Lord, keeping His Word in your heart and in your mouth. You’ll always, I mean, always discomfit the enemy whenever he shows up. As long as the Word of God is our arsenal, we’ll always win. The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit with which you cut the devil down. Hallelujah!

Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy his son in the Lord, to keep that which was committed to his trust with diligence, avoiding profane and vain things of the world. He therefore encouraged him to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Hear him

"Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus" (2nd  Timothy chapter 2 verse 1).

The same applies unto us believers. We've got to guide our salvation with all diligence, keeping to the Word of God and the Way of God that has been spelt out in the Scriptures. In so doing, our victory is certain. Praise the Lord!

PRAYER:

The Word of God in me gives me strength and power. Therefore, I triumph gloriously, reigning and prevailing over circumstances, in Jesus Mighty name. Amen.
