TEXT

"And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD." - 1 Chronicles chapter 28 verse 20.

From  today's reading we see King David instructing his son Solomon to be strong and courageous, not giving room to any intimidation of the enemy because God has promised to be with him in all areas and at all times. In verse seven of this same chapter, God told David that if his son would be constant to do His commandments and judgment that He will establish him.

"Moreover, I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day." - 1 Chronicle chapter 28 verse 7.

The problem of the church today is that we've left the real thing, and we are after mundane things. We have left the substance for the shadow, the grain for the chaff.

We will do ourselves a great deal of good by seeking the real things of life, gracious things, and things that will make our souls blessed here and hereafter. Of course, some things are more important than others. Such things that pertain to the kingdom of God are of utmost importance. When we are drawing out our scale of preference, it is advisable that we put the most important things on top of our list.

There is so much misplacement of priorities in the world today. There is also what is called spiritual ignorance. People treat the Word of God with levity.

Hosea  chapter 4 verse 6 says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."

If you don't have adequate knowledge of what the Word of God says or what Christ has done, you may operate below capacity, and you will be overwhelmed with fear. Jesus overcame the devil over two thousand years ago and has given us victory. The Bible says that we shall know the truth, the truth shall make us free.

PRAYER

Thank You Heavenly Father, for the victory You have wrought for me in Christ Jesus. I've been made more than conquerors, in Jesus Mighty name.
