BE NOT CONFORMED TO THIS WORLD
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,... ". - Romans 12:2
Knowing who you are, where you are going and your purpose for being, amongst others, are strong factors that will help to give direction to a man's life. For the child of God, the scriptures serve not only to inform us, but also to give us direction as to the Way pleasing unto God the Father! To us, Scriptures are the landmarks designed and given by God to lead us into His will for us. To ignore them therefore is to be ready to be lost and to be unfulfilled in life.
We are strangers and pilgrims here on earth (1 Peter 2:11). We have our hearts fixed on a day, the mother of all days! It's otherwise called the day of the LORD (Isaiah 2:12,13:6,9,34:8; Jeremiah 46:10; Joel 1:15, 2: 1,11,31,3:14; Zephaniah 1:7;1 Corinthians 1:8) or the day of visitation (Isaiah 10:3; Hosea 9:7; 1 Peter 2:12). It's going to be a terrible day, when all about us will be made manifest and bare before Him and all. Sinners will find no hiding place (Hosea 10:8); hypocrites will find themselves exposed and damned (Job 15:34; Isaiah 33:14; Matthew 23:14). To conform to this world and to it's ways of doing things have very grave consequences for man! "Seeing then that all these things shall be..., what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness." (ll Peter 3:11)
The only way to take so that we are not caught up in the quagmire of the Lord's anger on that terrible day is to heed the scriptural admonition that we be not conformed to this world and it's ways (Psalm 1:1,4-6; Romans 12:2). It's a definite decision we must make, no matter whose horse is gored. People will call you names, you may be rejected and forsaken, but don't be deterred thereby because you, like Apostle Paul, should say, "For this cause l suffer these things: nevertheless l am not ashamed: for l know whom l have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which l have committed unto Him against that day" (2 Timothy 1:12). When that day is revealed, then shall each and every one answer for himself/herself and receive the just recompense for all that is done here on earth. It doesn't matter who you are! It doesn't matter what volume of accolades and encomiums men pour or shower on you here on earth! Those that have ill-treated you or mocked you will find you wise and themselves foolish to have gained the world without care for the end of their souls!
FRIEND, WHAT SHALL YOUR PORTION BE? SHALL IT BE THAT OF COMMENDATION OR CONDEMNATION BEFORE HIM? It's left for you to decide NOW!
I wish you a fulfilling day.
