A CONSCIENCE VOID OF OFFENSE.

 SONG

Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning

Give me oil in my lamp, I pray

Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning

Keep me burning till the break of the day.

TEXT

"They must be committed to the revealed truths of the Christian faith and must live with a clear conscience." (First Timothy chapter 3 verse 9, New Living Translation)

Conscience is part of the heart that is given to us to know when things are bad or good. It makes us have a sensitive regard for fairness or justice.

Our conscience makes us know when we are doing the right thing or otherwise.

Once we become born again, something new and wonderful takes place in us. We metamorphose from our old nature into a new one. A new Spirit comes into us which is the Spirit of God, and He gives us a new life in Christ Jesus. This new nature is God taking residence in us, and it has to be nourished, by constant studying of the Word of God, so that we might be able to live out the truth of the Christian faith.

The believer has been mandated from the moment of conversion, to reveal the truth of the Christian Faith to the world at large. It's the responsibility of every born again child of God, especially those of us who are specially called for this purpose (that is, ministers of the Gospel). We are to reveal the truth about God's Word to the world around us with a very clear conscience. This is to be done with the heart that is void of offense, both towards God and towards men. Like Apostle Paul would say,

"And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. (Acts chapter 24 verse 16)

A conscience void of offense can be termed as a conscience that has been kept spotless of sin and at the same time, radiating the light of Christ for others to behold.

As Children of God, the life that has been inputted into us at salvation serves to bring out God's light which is meant to shine on the dark world to illuminate it.

This is the main purpose of our salvation, to shine the light of Christ with the pureness of heart to all. Hallelujah?

PRAYER

Lord, I am grateful for the gift of our Lord Jesus Christ. Help me to reveal the truth of Your Word to all and sundry through a conscience void of offense, in Jesus Mighty name 🙏.
