TEXT

"Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling." ( Psalm 91 stanza 9 to 10)

In times of adverse situations, where do we find refuge or solution? The most appropriate thing to do, whenever we are beset with unpleasantness, is to set our minds to seek the Lord.

Like the Psalmist in our today's reading, he chose to make God his refuge, even the Most High his Holy habitation. Because the Psalmist decided to make God his place of abode, no evil could come upon him. There are many things to enjoy when we make God our hiding place.

Also, the book of Psalms 91  stanza 2 says, "I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

Those who put their trust in the LORD and make Him their place of  habitation can never be ashamed. (See also, Romans 10 verse 11)

Jesus, Himself, in the book of

Matthew chapter 11 verse 28 gave an open invitation to all, saying, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Have you labored, and you are heavy laden?  Why not come to Jesus, and you will surely find rest for your soul.

Jesus Christ is the only One who can give true rest from all our tolls and worries. Many people are still finding it difficult to entrust their lives to Jesus.

What is that burden that besets you that is leading you to seek help? God promises to save His own in the midst of evil occurrences.

In our previous message, we saw how King Jehoshaphat set his mind to seek God for intervention in respect of the situation that was before him.

Hear what God said to the King; and God is saying the same to you and I: "And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.” (2 Chronicles 20 verse 15b).

As you choose to invite God into the battle of your life, you will not be disappointed in Jesus’ Mighty name 🙏

PRAYER

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for taking over every battle of my life and giving me all-around victory in Jesus' Mighty name.
