WHAT DO YOU DO WITH WHAT YOU HEAR?

 SONG

Trust and obey, for there's no other way,

to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey

 TEXT

" And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me." - Mark.- 10.46-47

In my last message, I talked about taking heed how you hear. This morning we shall be talking about what we do with what we hear.

I said in my previous massage that blind Bartimaeus was discreet in his hearing, by being able to differentiate between the movement of people around him as a blind man on that day from the other days.

Bartimaeus did not just stop at hearing well but did something spectacular with what he heard, which wrought about his miracle.

"... And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus."- Mark.10.48-50

He called on Jesus to help him. The people tried to shut him up, but he shouted the more. When Jesus heard his cry, He bade him to come unto Him, the Bible says, " he cast away his garment and rose and came to Jesus."

Jesus did not deny him of what he needed. For the Bible says as many as came unto Him, He healed them all. No one comes to Jesus and goes back the same way he came. He is the Solution to all problems.

I would like us to look at the story of Peter and his fellow disciples in the boat ( Matt.14.24-31).

The disciples of Jesus were sailing in a boat when they encountered a threatening storm, in the process, "they saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear...." - Matthew 14-26-27

Jesus spoke unto them, saying, " Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid."

The word of Jesus came to all that were in the boat, but the greatest amazement in this story is that only Peter responded positively. He answered him and said, "Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. " Jesus said to him, come, and he came down from the ship and walked on water." He acted upon the Word of Jesus and it delivered result.

What  is your response this morning or this year to what God has spoken unto you?

Are you like Peter that responded or like the other eleven disciples that didn't do anything with what the Lord said?

"And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus."- Matt.14.29 -

Peter walked on water, because he acted upon the Word of God that was said to him. Nature was suspended for him. Peter decided to leave the other eleven in the boat and responded to Jesus' call and did the extraordinary. You can decide to leave every other person and respond to Jesus this year in order to experience the performance of God’s promises.

As many that will respond to what the Lord is saying to us this morning and, by extension, this year shall experience the performance of the Word of God in Jesus's Mighty name.

Refuse to be like Peter who when he saw the wind boisterous,  was afraid and began to sink ( Matt 14:30 ). Don't be moved or distracted by anything contrary to what God has said concerning you this year.

God can not lie, whatever He says, that is what He does. Hallelujah.

Jesus is ever ready to deliver and to save.

 PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I chose to obey and act upon your word to me this year and beyond so that I can enjoy the fullest benefit of your promises unto me in Jesus mighty name 🙏
