WHAT DO YOU DO AT THE TIME OF PERIL? (Part 2)

SONG

Only You can do

What no man can do, Jehovah (2 times)

TEXT

"Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD...So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone." ( Ezekiel 37 verses 4 to 7).

It's not advisable to wait until we are deep in trouble before we bring God in. Though it can never be too late to involve God in our affairs, it is better to involve Him at the very beginning of the process. Let us liken this to the wedding at Cana of Galilee. The celebrant was wise enough to have involved Jesus from the very beginning of his program. When things got out of hand, Jesus was immediately beckoned upon, and He rescued the situation. The Bible says in John 2 verses 1 to 9 as follows:

"And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage..."

We must learn to put God first in whatever we do, and as we do so, we can be sure that the end of it will be glorious.

Are there areas of your life where you feel confused and helpless? I tell you this morning that there is a way out for you. God is the answer and even now, it's not too late to involve Him. Invite the Lord to come and take His place regarding that situation and you'll be glad you did.

The circumstances at hand may appear bleak and dismal. Should that be the case, this is the best time to put your faith to work. It's the right time to bring God into the case. When all hope is lost and we invite the Lord, He's always willing to show up. In Matthew 11 verse 28, the Lord gave us an open invitation saying,

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Yes, God's rest is available for you in regards to that situation, in Jesus name.

Also in the Book of Revelation 3 verse 20, Jesus, the Lord says,

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." It's up to us to heed the Lord's call to let Him into our lives in order to experience His goodness.

In the Scripture reading for today, God’s people were in a deplorable condition that needed His intervention. God expected the prophet to do something. Ezekiel was to speak to the situation around him. There is power in the spoken words, especially God's Word because they are clothed with divine authority. Therefore, the Lord instructs Ezekiel to prophesy, to declare life unto that which was lifeless. In obedience to God's command, Prophet Ezekiel prophesied to the dry bones and the prevailing ugliness succumbed to the voice of the Prophet. This very act teaches us that there is profound strength in proclaiming God's truth, even amidst despair and dire circumstances.

Let's understand that the words of our mouths spoken in faith and with expectations are powerful and capable of delivering positive results. As the Prophet was asked to speak life upon the dry bones, commanding them to live, so too, have we been given authority to declare the Word of God over the situations of our lives and the lives of others. The Book of Job 22 verse 28 says,

"Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways."

Learn to speak faith filled words to your life's situations and soon, those unpleasant situations around you will give way to your heart's desires, in Jesus name.

PRAYER:

By the power and authority in the name of Jesus, I speak life upon every unpleasantness in my life in Jesus Mighty name.
