WALKING UPRIGHTLY!

SONG

I'm standing upon the Word of God. The Word of God is power

I'm standing upon the Word of God. The Word of God is power

TEXT

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful..." - Psalm 1 stanza 1 to 3.

Scoffers in our company are the ones who often question the very existence of God. To them, the Christian faith is considered untrue and the people who believe in God are seen as fools. The truth is that the Bible counts as wise men that acknowledge God!

If we want to be victorious and happy in life, there is that which we must be ready to do. The psalmist gives us some ideas as to how to achieve victory and happiness in life. He has spelt out what we should do, what we should not do, and what to avoid totally.

Uprightness is the mark of a true child of God.

The man that walks upright may be slow, but I tell you, it is a sure walk.

On the other hand, He that is in a hurry to acquire riches shall not be faultless or innocent.

There is an adage that says, "slow and steady wins the race".

A steady perseverance in integrity, if it does not bring riches, will certainly bring honor and peace of mind. By doing what is just and right, we are like one walking upon a rock. This gives us confidence that every step we take is upon a solid and safe ground. On the other hand, success acquired through unjust means and through questionable transactions will always be uncertain and the man who is found in this nest must always be afraid that a day of reckoning will soon catch up with him. When he is asked to give an account, then his gains will bring upon him condemnation.

Let us stick to the truth of the Word of God and live righteously, delighting in God's Word. Let us keep company and imitate our Lord and Master, in whose mouth no deceit was ever found.

"But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night" - Psalm 1 stanza 2.

To be happy, we need to get our counsel from Scriptures.

Our zeal should be to live the Lord’s own way and never to live in sin. We may be looked upon as fools but as we stay firm in our integrity, we can be sure that our reward will be great.

The Bible says "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." Psalm 1 stanza 3.

This is the life God has given you; it’s a life of dominion, fruitfulness, and victory. A life where you triumph gloriously and honor Him with your works and fruits of righteousness.
