WALK IN THE LIGHT [Part 2]
SONG
I've got the light of God in me
I've got the light of God in me
I've got the Spirit of the Son of God
I've got the light of God in me
TEXT
"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:" - 2Pet.1:19.
As flaming fire gives light by night to dispel darkness so also the truth of the Word of God, when spoken, brings alive the soul of man. It is like “a light that shines in a dark place until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:” (2 Peter 1:19).
As often as the mind is dark and there is so much evidence of obscurity, what the soul needs at that point is to turn its eyes to the shining of the Word of Truth, as its only guiding light. “Your word,” says David, “is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” - Psalm 119:105.
The right and commendable thing to do in lieu of the chains of events happening around us; with darkness everywhere else, is to turn to the light of the Word of Truth, which is the Word of God.
Christ is the Light that shines on the path we are called to follow and that Light also shows us the areas of darkness we need to eliminate if we do not want to stumble on that path.
"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined." - Isa.9:2.
The Light of Christ is the Light that lights up the world. The entire world lies in total darkness. God has put His light in us by His Spirit and His Word, not only to light us up but also to give Light to the dark World. This Light we are talking about can not be overcome by darkness. In other words, darkness has no answer to its shining.
"And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." - John.1:5.
Jesus has come to set us free; and all who believe shall know that His coming is never in vain.
PRAYER
I have the Light of Christ in me. I no longer walk in darkness; neither do I fellowship with the works of darkness, in Jesus Mighty name.
