SONG
I'm standing upon the Word of God. The Word of God is power
I'm standing upon the Word of God. The Word of God is power
TEXT
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God." (John chapter 1 verses 1 to 2)
Our Scripture reading for today says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...." This is to say, the Word of God existed before the creation of all things both in Heaven, on Earth and beneath the Earth. It will interest you that when we talk about the Word, we're invariably talking about Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son of God. He was with God the Father and the Holy Spirit at the time of creation. It was actually by Him that everything was made.
"All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John chapter 1 verse 3) All things in Heaven, on Earth and beneath the Earth were created by Him, and also sustained by His creative power. Through this verse we've been made to understand that God by His Word spoke all things into existence and so they have remained. The Word of God is greatly empowered to produce results.
This is to mean that as we have the Word of God in our spirit and our mouths, we can speak things into existence, and we can also reframe our lives and our world by the words of our mouths.
The Word of God is alive and active. It can do all you can ever think of.
It is a weapon of warfare. It has the power to penetrate and deal with every circumstance of life.
"Every Word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him." (Proverbs 30 verse 5).
It has the power to heal and give life to anything it touches.
"He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." (Psalms 107 stanza 20)
The Word of God does not fail to accomplish the purpose for which it's sent.
"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." (Isaiah chapter 55 verse 11)
Jesus, the Eternal Word of God has been made flesh and is dwelling among us. The apostles of old beheld His glory. Let us therefore seize the opportunity to apply Him in all aspects of our lives and we'll be glad that we did.
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
(John chapter 1 verse 14.) Hallelujah!
PRAYER.
Thank You Heavenly Father, for Your Word has made my life anew. Everything about me has taken a new shape in Jesus' Mighty name.
