THE CENTER THAT HOLDS EVERYTHING TOGETHER.

SONG:

You are the Pillar that holds my life,

You are the Pillar that holds my life,

Master Jesus, You are the Pillar that holds my life.

Master Jesus, You are the Pillar that holds my life.

TEXT:

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abides in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me." (John 15 verse 4).

Jesus is the Center that holds all things together, so therefore, we need to abide in Him. In John  15 verse 5, Jesus the Lord speaking about us said "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

If you want to know the helplessness of a branch, cut it off from the vine. Likewise, if you want to know the nakedness of a man, cut him off from God.

As the branch if separated from the parents stock could produce no fruit, but would wither and die, so also the Christian, if separated from Christ would dry up spiritually.

A couple will not have a good marriage if Jesus is not holding the marriage together. In fact, people have difficulty in having good relationships with one another should Jesus not be leading and influencing them to love one another.

Our businesses and finances are usually in a mess without Jesus. No one can succeed on his or her own without Jesus. Besides, our emotions are often out of control without Jesus. Also, we find our thoughts clouded and confused without Jesus; for He says in John 15 verse 5, "for without Me ye can do nothing."

Additionally, the Book of Colossians 1 verses 17 to 18 says of the Lord Jesus:

"And  he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence."

Yes, Jesus was before everything in time past and through Him all things came into existence. Since Christ was before all things were set in place, it then follows that we can not set our priorities right without putting Him first on the top of our list.

Colossians 1 verse 18,  tells us clearly that Jesus is the Head of the body. Therefore, He alone, in every respect should occupy the chief place in our lives, being members of His Body. If Jesus is not first in our lives as we draw our scale of preferences, then we need to rearrange our priorities, putting Him in His rightful place.

When setting our priorities, it's important to understand that Jesus is the One holding the power to all that is good for our lives. Our lives will not be blessed as expected if we keep God in a little Sunday Morning Box and let Him have our attention for only two hour's service in a week.

As long as we are here in this world, we will have to resist becoming like the world. Life in our world can be a daily battle, but the key to victory is to remember that Jesus holds everything together, and that without Him we can do nothing, neither can we amount to anything in life.

PRAYER:

Help me Lord, for l can do nothing without you; my fulfillment is complete in my abiding in You, in Jesus Mighty name. 🙏 🙏 🙏
