REFUSE SATAN’S LIES

SONG:

Jesus is a mighty God

He is a mighty God

All powers bow before Him

He is a mighty God

TEXT:

"And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." (Genesis chapter 3 verses 4 to 5)

Satan will always try to discredit God and His Word before us. He does everything within his power to make us doubt God and His Word for us.

One thing about Satan is that he is incapable of telling the truth. That is why he is called the father of lies. The Bible says that he "... does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (John chapter 8 verse 44, English Standard Version). In other words, he's not a reliable personality because of his lying and deceptive character.

      From our today's reading,

Satan formulated his lie to replace what God had said in his Word, telling Eve that she would not die, though she ate the fruit of the tree that was in the midst of the garden.

"And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die" (Genesis chapter 3 verse 4).

In his deceptive and lying character, satan went as far as saying, to the woman as follows:

"For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." (Genesis chapter 3 verse 5).

Satan would often fabricate lies to distract us from the truth about God's Word and His Way. That was exactly what he did to Eve in the garden of Eden. He succeeded in persuading the woman to disbelieve God’s Word and to believe His own lies instead.

Satan, knowing that his final destination is the lake of fire, does not want to be there alone. His intention is to lure many to the same place through his lies and deceptions. His major plot is to get the child of God to doubt God's Word. But as children of God, the Bible admonishes us not to be ignorant of the devices of the wicked one (2nd Corinthians 2 verse 11).

Getting the child of God to doubt God has been satan's plot ever since the beginning of time. In the garden of Eden, while tempting Eve, he presented the scene as though God forbade man from eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil because God didn't want man to be like Him. To achieve his aim, went on to present God as a liar before man. Hear him:

"And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? ... And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3 verses 1 to 5)

Today, satan has continued to do the same thing to God's children. In his temptations, he aims to present God as not seeking our happiness in life by placing so-called "restrictions" on us. But this is not true. Actually, the reverse is the case. God will not and will never place any "restrictions" on His children. On the contrary, it's satan whose grand design has been to place man in perpetual bondage to sin, resulting in death.

Look at what happened in the matter of Eve. What transpired in the garden of Eden seemed like a little sin, but it eventually grew up and gave birth to the greatest problem of humanity.

I conclude by saying that we let the Word of God be our daily companion so that we might mature in the things of God and be able to detect and be guided from satan's path of lies and deceptions.

PRAYER

Thank You Heavenly Father for keeping me in the path of truth, I refuse to yield my life to the lies of Satan, in Jesus' name.
