TEXT

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." - Matt.6:33.

What a promise from God unto us His children!

Food, raiment, home, peace, joy, life, prosperity, good health and so forth have always been the quest of every man on earth. Although, there are many things calling for our attention in life, we will fare better if only we can give God first place in our lives. When we give God first place in our lives, the promise from Him is that every other thing will finds its place in our lives (Matt.6.33).

Let us not try to work God into our schedules. We need to ask the Holy Spirit to help us to draw out our schedules. When we are drawing out our scale of preference, it is expedient to put God on top of the list. Many a time, we bring God in when our wisdom has failed us.

This is not supposed to be so.

The Bible has said that God will add to us every other thing while we seek Him first. When we mind His business, He will in turn also mind ours.

Why not be like that family in Cana of Galilee that invited Jesus to the wedding from the very beginning? Eventually, when issues arose, Jesus stepped in and settled everything that was begging for attention.

"And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage...When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom," - John.2:2.

Let us first and foremost seek with our whole souls, the Kingdom of God, making it our priority. That being so, we can be rest assured that every other thing will come from the Lord Himself without us having to struggle or to be anxious for them.

Someone said, "He who is an heir of salvation shall not die of starvation; and he who clothes his soul with the righteousness of God cannot be left of the Lord with a naked body."

When we set all of our mind upon seeking the Lord, all that is needful for life and godliness “shall be added unto us.”

PRAYER

Lord, I seek Thee first. Let every other thing I need or might need in life be added unto me in Jesus' name.
