PENTECOST WEEK (PART 3)

 SONG

Send Thy Power, the Holy Ghost power

Send Thy Power again,

The Holy Ghost Power

TEXT

"Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts." - Zech.4.6.

In preparation for the forthcoming Pentecost week, there is a need for us to understand what it means. Pentecost is a Christian feast on the seventh Sunday after Easter commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles. Jesus earlier promised His disciples that He would pray the Father to send another comforter unto them

The Bible clearly tells us that we can do nothing by our own strength but by the Spirit of God. Our victory in life is traceable to the work of the Holy Spirit in us. He was actively present at creation. "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." - Gen.1.2.

Jesus also asked the disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were endued with the Power from on high before going into ministry.

"And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." - Luke.24.49.

The truth is that we can not really get along with our lives without the help of the Holy Spirit. We need to spend regular and quality time in fellowship with our MASTER JESUS, like Mary, suspending every other thing that may be craving for our attention. It is a commendable act to choose that which can never be taken away from us. Therefore, we've got to get in touch with Him and to maintain communication with Him; though it may require the sacrificing of time and effort.

If we truly want to experience victory in our lives, we must do this regularly.

Every child of God needs the baptism of the Holy Ghost to be able to live a victorious Christian life.

PRAYER

Thank you Heavenly Father for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I covet Him in my life in Jesus Mighty name.
