LORD, OPEN THE EYES OF MY HEART (PART 2).
SONG
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You. I want to see You.
TEXT:
"Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119 stanza 105).
The Word of God has the enablement to bring clarity into our hearts and at the same time, illuminate the path of our journeys of life. As the psalmist has declared, the Scriptures being lamp unto our feet and light unto our paths, serves to guide us amidst the turbulence, trials and tribulations of life.
We get illuminated by the light of the Word in manifold ways by reading, studying and meditating on the Word, by presenting ourselves in fellowship where the Word is taught and also through acting on the Word.
As the candle gives light in the dark, so does the Word of God provide clarity and understanding in our times of uncertainty and problems. Whatever the problem you may be facing at any point in time in your life, you can be sure of finding answers in the Word of God. When we consider the story of Job, who, despite his great sufferings, clung steadfastly to his faith in the LORD, we feel greatly encouraged.
By daily reflection upon the teachings of God's Word, we find hope and strength to go through the hassles of time as they present themselves to us in life.
Through earnest meditation upon God's Word, the heart becomes open to receive divine strength and guidance. It is a good thing to set aside time to meditate upon the teachings of the Bible. Besides, in the fellowship of believers, one may share burdens and gain wisdom from the experiences of others.
The questions you need to ask yourself this morning are: how often do you engage yourself with the Word? Do you go for it in the quiet of the morning, or perhaps, in the solitude of the evening? In what ways has the Word impacted your heart?
However you may think best to seek God through His Word, I advise that you do it with an open heart and you'll find God without fail, in Jesus name.
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father, I yield the totality of my heart unto You; make it your dwelling place in Jesus Mighty name.
