TEXT

"The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount: Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates."

(Deuteronomy chapter 1 verses 6 to 7)

Many of us have chosen to remain in stagnation, probably because of fear of failure or incompetence or for some other reasons. Such people have failed to move forward in life, oftentimes feeling comfortable with themselves.

From today's Scripture reading, the children of Israel chose to remain in a particular spot for a long while. Whereas, the Lord had intended that they continued with their journey until they arrived at the expected destination.

“The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:" (Deuteronomy chapter 1 verses 6)

The case of Israel was that a journey that was meant for just eleven days turned out to be a journey of forty years. This was the result of their attitude or perspective about the issues before them. Oftentimes, this is the case with us. The truth is that our approach to issues has the tendency to either prolong or shorten and quicken our expectations.

God had to compel or rather, command Israel to move forward. Like it was with Israel, some of us may require some push in order to advance forward in life. Most times, it's all about what decisions you make at a given time in life. Truth is, the decision you make today will determine where you will be tomorrow. You will agree with me that, where you are today, is the result of the decisions you made yesterday.

Make up your mind this morning, with the help of the Holy Spirit to make a decision about what's before you. You probably have dwelt too long on the point of indecision. It is time to break camp. You have been stagnant enough. It's time to launch forth, the time to move forward is here. Take a bold step today and break the camp. Come out of that shell and move forward. Time isn't anymore on your side. You've got to redeem it (Ephesians 5 verse 16; Colossians 4 verse 5). Don't waste time any longer.

The time to act has come. You probably have been crying to the Lord, asking for help. Make do with what you have in your possession right now. As you take a step of faith, the Lord will show up for you! Don't be afraid. Like it was with Moses and the children of Israel, the Lord is asking that you move forward.

"And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:"  (Exodus chapter 14 verse 15).

In obedience to God's servant, the people of Israel went forward, and there was a great victory. As you obey the call to move forward, there shall be unspeakable positive results unto you, in Jesus' Mighty name.

PRAYER

Thank You Heavenly Father for Your Word unto me this morning. I am launching forth this day by faith and I believe that You have given me victory, in Jesus name.
