IN GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS …
"In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee." - Isaiah 54:14 (KJV)
Christ is the Righteousness which is of God (Phil 3:9). He is our Righteousness!
(Jer 23:6,33; 1 Cor 1:30; Rom 10:4). Therefore, to be in Christ is to be in God's righteousness.
"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:" - 1 Cor 1:30 (KJV).
"Surely , shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength:" - Isa 45:24 (KJV)
Yes, we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." - 2 Cor 5:21 (KJV). (See also Isa 54:17).
To be established and to be far from oppression and terror, you have to put on Christ, God's Righteousness. You need to get born again, receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and live for Him!
"But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof." - Rom 13:14 (KJV).
Let not evil or wickedness be found in your hands. Rather, be reconciled to God through Christ (2Cor 5:20-21).
Again, for emphasis sake, being in God’s Righteousness is the precondition for being established. "In righteousness shalt thou be established:" (Isa 54:14, see also 2 Chron 20:20)
The Bible says that "A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved." - Prov 12:3 (KJV). To be established is to be accepted, recognized, grow, flourish and be successful over a long period of time. Obviously, this is the delight of everyone. Only in righteousness can you achieve this!
Know this again: Righteousness is a covering from oppression, fear and terror.
"In righteousness … thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee." - Isaiah 54:14 (KJV).
In Christ Jesus, God's Righteousness, we are far from oppression because with us is the Comforter and Power. In the Old Testament, it wasn’t so. Oppression reigned galore! In Christ Jesus, we are new creatures, differentiated from the Old Testament saints. Truth is, what befell them can't befall us now!
God in the OT saw that there was no Comforter, and on the side of their oppressors there was power (Ecc 4:1); and because there was no Comforter, the enemy hath magnified himself (Lam 1:9); there was weeping because "the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me" (Lam 1:16).
Again, we note that in the Old Testament, it was a risky venture for a man to turn from evil to embrace truth!
"Yes, truth is gone, and anyone who renounces evil is attacked. The Lord looked and was displeased to find there was no justice. He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. So he himself stepped in to save them with his strong arm, and his justice sustained him." - Isa 59:15-16, NLT.
Unto us Jesus had promised that He will not leave us comfortless, as orphans - Jn 14:18.
In the New Testament, we have Christ as our Comforter (1Jn 2:1) as well as the Holy Spirit (Jn 14:16).
The Holy Bible shows the beautiful truth that we have two Advocates. On earth the Holy Spirit stands to plead our cause. Those things we cannot say right, He says for us (Rom 8:26); the things we do not understand, He interprets for us (Jn 14:26). In heaven, Jesus is our Advocate with the Father(1Jn 2:1); He pleads our cause. Imagine, we have the two Greatest Advocates in the universe. We have Jesus Christ, the Son, at the Father's right hand, and we have the Holy Spirit on earth. With two such Great Advocates or Attorneys, how could we ever be oppressed, be in fear or lose out? This is all because of being in Christ, God's Righteousness!
PRAYER:
I'm in Christ Jesus, God's Righteousness. That being so, I'm established in life, far from oppression, fear and terror. The Bible says that these evils shall not come near me, in Jesus name.
