HOPE IN GOD (Part 2)
SONG
I know He will never ever fail me
I know He will never ever fail me
I know He will never ever fail me
I know He will never ever fail.
TEXT
"My soul fainteth, lacking courage and spirit for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word." (Psalm 119 stanza 81).
The Psalmist, in the Scripture reading for today, was in a state of despondency because he had waited to see God's salvation, and it seemed not to come as he had expected. Discouragement began to set in, but thank God for His Word that came to mind, bringing hope and comfort unto him. Hallelujah!
Dear brethren, it's good to put our trust in God and also to know that He never fails them that hope in Him. Definitely, there is surety of safety when we put our trust in God.
Sometimes, it may look as though God doesn't care about us or that He doesn't see what we are going through. I tell you, He cares ever more, and He sees all that you are going through, even beyond your imagination.
It will amaze you to know that God is working behind the scenes of our lives to make a way out of the mess we find ourselves in. I want you to consider this fact for a moment.
Like the woman with the issue of blood, can you picture your freedom and victory? She foresaw and anticipated her healing even before it eventually happened in the physical realm. (Mark 5 verse 25 to 34)
When the storms of life rage, think upon the Word of God, and you will see records of His faithfulness in the lives of many who clung steadfastly to their faith amidst their trials. An example of such was Job, who proclaimed, "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him." (Job 13 verse 15)
Another thing we need to know is that the Lord does not forsake us because we are His people. The Bible says in the book of 1st Samuel 12 verse 22 as follows:
"For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people."
Glory to God that He will not forsake His people because of His great Name. That being the case, let's be like the Psalmist who fainted to see God's salvation. He earnestly desired to see God coming through for him. But because there was no apparent result in view, he resorted to hoping in God's Word, and for this, he was not disappointed because as "the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed." (Romans 10 verse11).
Hope in God and you will never be put to shame, in Jesus name.
PRAYER.
Lord God Almighty, I have resolved to hope in Thy Word. I will never turn back because I know that my testimony is sure in Jesus' Mighty name
