HOPE IN GOD, I SAY HOPE IN GOD!

SONG.

His Word is yea and amen.

I find it yea and amen

TEXT

"God can't break his word. And because his word can not change, the promise is likewise unchangeable. We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go."  (Hebrews 6 verse 18, MSB).

The word hope means to desire something so desperately that despite all evidence to the contrary, you keep believing in God for it.

It is the expectation of good things to come and a beacon that lights the path amid the shadows of despair. The remarkable thing about hope is that it awakens within those who exercise it a strength of its own. The Message translation of the Scripture reading for today, above cited,  has said it all.

Indeed, God can not break His word, which are also His promises unto us. They are not only sacrosanct and unchanging, they are also true.

We who have come unto God must hold fast to the promises that have been set before us, never allowing any of them to slip off our fingers, because they are true and are unfailing, always delivering good results to those that believe them. Hallelujah!

Whenever the waves crash around us, what do we do at such times? Do we whisper words of encouragement and hope to ourselves, like David, who encouraged himself amidst the most difficult time of his life? Or do we allow ourselves to sink into despair and despondency?

In first Samuel chapter 30 verse 6, the Bible says,

"And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God."

David refused to give in to discouragement. Rather, he hoped in his God, who never fails or disappoints. David hoped for a calm that would come; and it was so. He was not disappointed because God eventually showed up for him.

What is that situation that looks insurmountable and threatening before you? Why don't you hope in your God, Who has a track record of faithfulness and steadfastness towards those that look up to Him?

We are certain that our hope in God can never be disappointed. The Bible says in the book of Roman.5 verse 5, "And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."

When we put our hope in God, it's like finding refuge in Him, knowing that with Him, nothing is impossible!

It is likened unto a seed that is sown in the ground, nourished by the rains of patience, awaiting the day when it shall blossom forth.

Hope is like the light that shines on the distant sea shore, giving courage and assurance to the sailor. It's also a promise of better days ahead of you as a child of the Living God. Hope in God!

PRAYER

Lord, grant me the fortitude to persevere and the faith to believe that You are working all things for my good, even when I can not see them. Amen.
