He died on the Cross,

He died on the Cross.

Jesus died on the Cross for me

TEXT

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (Second Corinthians chapter 5 verse 21).

Our Father, the Creator of The Heavens and the Earth, is a Holy Being who, by His very nature, can not condone sin but condemns it outright.

Therefore, it is the height of wrong imagination to think that God will relax both His law and His nature to tolerate anyone who is bent on wrongdoing, and who is not ready to make amendments. The facts remain that there is not one person who's good enough to enter Heaven on his or her own merit. Everyone of us needs Jesus, who has been made a perfect substitute for us. Your sins and mine have been washed clean by the sacrifice of God's holy and blameless Son. This is what is meant when the Bible says,

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." Second Corinthians chapter 5 verse 21.

Christ's love and His desire to save us from our sins made Him to put aside His glory and to deny His holiness by taking upon Himself the weight of our sins. The result is that as many as believe in Christ are forgiven their wrongs and clothed in His righteousness.

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" - John chapter 1 verse 12.

It's good to have a clear understanding that trusting Jesus is far more than giving intellectual assent to His existence. It is something that even the Devil acknowledges, for he knows the consequence thereof. Conversely, many Christians have been robbed of God's blessings for giving mere mental assent to Christ and His Word.

Just as it was rightly said by our Reverend Barrister Manasseh Dele Buoro in one of his series on [DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE GOD? (PART 2)],

"Truth is, giving mere mental assent to the Word of God as some do has robbed many Christians of the reward that accompanies believing God's Word."

A true believer shouldn't be lax about entering into a serious relationship with the One who loves his soul enough to die and save him from eternal condemnation.

Those who remain tightly wrapped in their sinful indulgences cannot hope to sneak into Heaven, jokingly put.

But on a serious note, Heaven is for sinners who have repented, and Hell is for the self righteous who see no need for repentance.

PRAYER:

Thank You dear Lord Jesus for taking my place as a sinner in exchange for Your place as God's righteousness!
