GOD'S LOVE IS ENORMOUS

SONG
He loves me, o, I can not say why
He died on the Cross, just for you and me
He gave His Own life as a ransom for many,
He loves me, o, I can not say why

TEXT
"... But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”. (1st Corinthians 2 verse 9, English Standard Version).

The Almighty God has not called us to serve Him in vain. Rather, He has called us so that we might show forth His praise and glory to the entire world.
Our Scripture reading this morning makes us understand the depth of the divine mystery and boundless care and deeds that God has for them that love Him. God’s love for humanity is enormous. It is unquantifiable and impossible to fathom. According to our Scripture reading for today, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”. Indeed, He was the one who first loved us.
He gave His only begotten Son that He might die for our sins so that as sons, the punishment for our sins might not come upon us. Behold what manner of love is this that God has shown unto us that we should be called the sons of God (1st John 3 verse 1).
What He expects of us is to reciprocate His love unto us.
How do we show that we love Him? To demonstrate our love for God is indeed a sacred task. The Scriptures say in the book of John 14 verse 15, that "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Our love for God must be demonstrated in our obedience to His commandments. Love for the Almighty is not merely in words but in action.
As a tree is known by its fruits, so too are we known by our obedience to that which the Lord has instructed us to do.
Our love for God can also be demonstrated through the love we show to our neighbors. The Scriptures says, in Leviticus 19 verse 18,
"Don't seek revenge or carry a grudge against any of your people. "Love your neighbor as yourself. I am GOD."
As we consider the parable of the Good Samaritan in the book Luke 10 verses 33 to 35, the Bible says,
"But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him..."
Here, the Samaritan showed love not by mere sentiments but by tending to the wounds of the fallen stranger and went further to settle the medical bill, including accommodation for the victim.
This is a great lesson for us. Our love for God is revealed through the love we show to our neighbors by acts of kindness, compassion, and mercy.
When we demonstrate love to our neighbors, we're indirectly demonstrating our love for God, who is the Creator of all. What is more, God has promised to do to them that love Him what eye has not seen, or ear heard,
or the heart of man ever imagined. Hallelujah!
Expect your great reward as you genuinely exhibit love towards the Lord by obeying His command, showing kindness and love to others, in Jesus name.

PRAYER:
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for loving me first. Help me to live in reciprocation to Your love for me, especially by manifesting your love to others, in Jesus name.
