"Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God." (Philippians 4 verse 6).
To fret means to worry! So many of us worry too much about so many things. Unfortunately, our worries can neither add a cubic to our heights nor a string to our hair. Worrying will rather remove something from us, and at the same time cause us a lot of health hazards. Instead of worrying ourselves out, why not at once roll ourselves and our burdens upon the Lord?
For He says in 1st Peter 5 verse 7: "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
If God has said it, it's good as settled. Whatever situation we might find ourselves in, Jesus has paid the price for us, just call upon His name, and victory is sure. Hallelujah.
Jesus taught his disciples, re-assuring them that as long as they walked with God, obeying His words, all their needs would be met. He said: “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?" (Matthew 6 verse 25)
If God can provide for the birds of the air which neither sow nor harvest, how much more will He provide for us, His children?
You don't need to keep worrying over the mundane things of life; rather, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. For God has said that He cares for us, so we don't have to worry. We can always count on God for help in all areas. He says, He will never leave nor forsake us.
Worry nullifies prayers because it makes you doubt the ability of God. Also, it makes you see the problem or the enemy bigger than God. Everything committed into the hands of God is usually safe and secure. Hand over all your problems to God and leave it with Him. Don't try to help Him to hold it.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (1st Peter 5 verse 7).
God is the only One that can rest your soul: Only He can give you that inner peace that truly de-stresses you.
Jesus said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11 verse 28, Revised Standard Version).
PRAYER:
Thank you Jesus for being there for me at all times. I refuse to worry about anything in life, because all has been settled in Christ Jesus. Amen and amen.
