ENJOYING PERFECT PEACE!

TEXT:

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusted in thee". (Isaiah 26 verse 3, King James Version)

Perfect peace at a time like this is priceless! We do need to experience perfect peace in our lives; but given the fact that our adversary, satan the devil knows that his time is short, he intensifies his wickedness to the end that the much desired peace appears to be eluding us.

Yet Jesus, the Prince of Peace has promised us peace. His Word is sacrosanct. Hear Him:

"Peace l leave with you, My peace l give unto you: not as the world giveth, give l unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14 verse 27). Again in John 16 verse 33, the Blessed Lord spoke saying, "These things l have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER; l have overcome the world" (Emphasis mine)

Jesus told us to be of "GOOD CHEER" because He has overcome the world for us! To be of good cheer entails an attitude of apparent and glaring show of a mixture of loud rejoicing with confidence of victory over a situation that otherwise would have been dismal. It requires a display of faith in the face of adverse circumstances of life. The  rendering of the amplified version of that verse is beautiful. It says Jesus has "deprived it (the world) of power to harm you and have conquered it for you" (John 16 verse 33, Amplified Classics). This is the true position of things as they relate to us! Hallelujah!

As Christians all we need to do is to be focused on Jesus, believing and trusting Him for the manifestation of the good things His life has brought to us. Let not your focus be on the vagaries and vicissitudes of life; but rather, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12 verse 2). When you occupy your mind with Jesus, His love for you, His ability and power over all circumstances of life, then will you be overwhelmed not by the adversity of life, but by His awesome Personality as the Prince of Peace, with the assurance that He has overcome for you and that soon, you will experience the much desired victory! This is what the Bible means when it says: "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee ..." (Isaiah 26 verse 3).

Shalom! Shalom! unto you today and always!

PRAYER:

May you enjoy His peace this day and forever more, in Jesus name.
