BY HIS STRIPES WE WERE HEALED.

SONG

He holds the key to my life,

When sickness and troubles seem to take my soul away.

He holds the key to my life.

TEXT

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah chapter 53 verse 5)

Nobody wants to be sick. Everyone wants to be healthy.

People will do just anything to retain or regain their health.

Good and perfect health is a universal desire; you could easily say it’s one of the most compelling desires of everyone who has ever lived and would ever live on Earth.

Prophet Isaiah foresaw our healing in Christ and looked forward to it, saying "with his stripes we are healed."

On his part, Apostle Peter saw Jesus fulfill the prophecy, saying in

1st Peter chapter 2 verse 24, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

The Bible says that when Jesus went to the cross, he bore our condemnation and purchased our healing and total well being. In other words, our healing is a done deal which exists and is available in Christ, to be received through faith by all that believe. Hallelujah!

God didn’t create us to be anything less than perfectly healthy. Sickness came upon us as a result of our rejection of God and His Way.

The fall of man in the garden of Eden altered the original plans of God for humanity and also brought so many problems to the world.

Man chose his own way rather than the way of God, that's why we are seeing all that we see today.

In 3rd John chapter 1 verse 2, the Bible says, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

God desires us to prosper and be in good health.

All these and more, are found in the atoning work of Jesus Christ.

Jesus did it all, He paid the debt for you and me.

He took every pain of ours upon Himself so that we might be healed. Hallelujah 🙌
