AND THE PROPHET PROPHESIED AS HE WAS COMMANDED.
SONG:
Jesus can do all things
Oh yes, He can do all things.
Oh yes
TEXT:
"Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD...So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone." (Ezekiel 37 verses 4 to 7)
This morning, I would like us to reflect on our lives and see if there are areas we might need the Lord’s intervention. Perhaps, God might have been asking us to speak His truth, to proclaim His promises, or to declare life where there seemed to be no life.
In your own life, had there been times when you had felt like throwing in the towel, as though all hope was gone? It was probably in relation to a dream long abandoned, a rescinded prayer request, a relationship in need of healing, or perhaps your spirit was burdened by doubt.
The Lord is asking you to invite Him into that situation now, so He could breathe upon those circumstances to the end that you might enjoy the fullness of His purpose concerning your life, in Jesus name.
In the case of Prophet Ezekiel in the Scripture reading for today, He was asked to speak to the dry bones, the state of which was utterly desolate and dismal. By way of assurance God had already given him a concrete guarantee that the bones were going to respond to what he would say (Ezekiel 37 verses 5 to 6).
God promised to invigorate and enliven the dry bones from their state of despair and desolation through His Spirit. The prophet did just as he was commanded. By doing so, he experienced extraordinary results. There was a miraculous renewal and a total restoration of the dry bones. According to the Bible, as the Prophet prophesied, "there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, ... , and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army." (Ezekiel 37 verses 7 to 10).
Like Prophet Ezekiel of old, by the Great Commission, God has raised you up in your generation as a prophet unto yourself and unto others. He wants you to prophesy upon every unpleasant situation you may be going through in life (Mark 11 verse 23, Matthew 17 verse 20, 21 verses 21 to 22). Besides, we have God's assurance that He will bring to pass our prophecies (Job 22 verse 28, Matthew 21 verse 22, Mark 11 verse 23 to 24). Henceforth, begin to prophesy unto yourself and unto others. It worked for Ezekiel and it will work for you, in Jesus name.
What God is about to do in your life this morning is proof of His power, sovereignty, and unfailing love for you.
As it was in the garden of Eden, God breathed life into the first man, and he became a living soul. In the same vein, God is bringing life and hope unto that lifeless and hopeless situation of yours, through you as His Prophet, in Jesus name.
Are you tired of that situation? Are you ready to settle it once and for all? Don't let this opportunity pass you by. This morning, be like Hannah, the mother of Prophet Samuel. She was tired of her situation, so she had to pray herself out to get what she wanted. (See First Samuel 1 verses 10-15).
You will be amazed at how God will awaken to life all that is dormant or dead in your life, in Jesus Christ name.
PRAYER:
I prophesy life and deliverance upon every area that I'm experiencing dryness, setback, and shame in Jesus Mighty name.
